Authorities are responding to a passenger train accident in Rongjiang, Guizhou Province, the morning of June 4. According to initial reports, a train traveling from Guiyang, Guizhou Province, to Guangzhou, Zhejiang Province, derailed due to a landslide. The incident has injured at least two workers and seven passengers; additional casualties are possible.

Response work will probably continue through June 4. Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the incident site in Rongjiang. Rail disruptions are also possible on routes that pass through Rongjiang.

The incident site is approximately 202 km (125.5 miles) southeast of Guiyang, Guizhou Province.
