Flight disruptions reported at Ezeiza International Airport outside Buenos Aires, Argentina, June 6 due to fog. Confirm all flights.

Informational

Event

Poor visibility due to heavy fog is causing significant flight disruptions at Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) outside Buenos Aires as of early June 6. At least one flight has been canceled, six others diverted, and 12 delayed due to the adverse conditions. The fog is expected to clear by the afternoon; however, lingering disruptions are likely to continue as officials work to reduce the backlog of flights and passengers. Four delayed flights have also been reported at Aeroparque Internacional Jorge Newbery (AEP) in Buenos Aires due to the foggy conditions. The National Meteorological Service of Argentina (SMN) has issued an advisory for fog across parts of northern and northeastern Buenos Aires, much of Entre Rios, and southern Santa Fe provinces early June 6, and additional warnings are in place for the same area on the mornings of June 7 and 8.

Further flight disruptions are possible during subsequent periods of forecast fog.

Advice

Confirm all flights. Consider alternative transportation options. If necessary, book alternative flights as soon as possible. Allow extra time for transit through EZE and AEP.
