Retired servicemen are staging a sit-in outside the headquarters of the Saudi-led coalition, near Ma'asheeq Presidential Palace in Aden, Aug. 2. Demonstrators are demanding the payment of pensions and other benefits that the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen has allegedly not paid. Additional demonstrations are possible in the coming days.
Saudi troops will almost certainly deploy to monitor the action; localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest site. Violence has occurred at similar protests in the past; clashes therefore cannot be ruled out.
