Security forces are responding to a militant attack at the Villa Rose hotel in Mogadishu's Bondhere District, near Villa Somalia (presidential palace), late Nov. 27. Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the assault, which has involved at least one explosion and heavy gunfire. Dozens of people have reportedly been rescued from the hotel; the site is frequented by government officials.
