Cabin crew associated with the National Aeronautical Union will hold an indefinite partial strike starting Dec. 19 to demand increased pay. Participants will strike every day for two hours from 06:00-08:00 at several airports, including Sao Paulo–Congonhas Airport (CGH), Sao Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport (GRU), Viracopos International Airport (VCP), Rio de Janeiro/Galeao International Airport (GIG), Santos Dumont Airport (SDU), Belo Horizonte International Airport (CNF), Brasília International Airport (BSB), Salgado Filho Porto Alegre International Airport (POA), and Fortaleza Airport (FOR). It is unclear which airlines will be affected by the strike.
Unless averted, the work stoppages will likely result in flight disruptions, including delays and cancelations. Knock-on disruptions to operations at affected airports are also possible. Disruptions may continue in the hours after strike periods end as airlines reposition aircraft and works through any passenger backlogs.
