At least ten injured in rickshaw explosion in Lahore on November 29; investigation ongoing

A bomb planted in a rickshaw exploded in Lahore's Chaurburji district on Friday, November 29, injuring at least ten people. Officials at the Counter-Terrorism Department said that a passenger traveling in the rickshaw had exited the vehicle and deliberately left a bag containing explosives, which then detonated at around 11:25 (local time). Emergency officials accompanied all injured people to hospital. Local police have arrested the rickshaw driver. However, investigations are ongoing as a manhunt remains underway to arrest the rickshaw's passenger.

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions, including road closures, are anticipated around the blast site over the coming days. Similar attacks possible over the near term.

Individuals in Lahore are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid the affected area, remain vigilant for militant activity, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities or their home governments.
