Bangladesh: General strike in Chittagong Hill Tracts May 7-8

A 48-hour general strike is taking place from Monday, May 7, through Tuesday, May 8, in Chittagong Hill Tracts (Chattagram Division), including Khagrachari, Rangamati Hill, and Bandarban districts. No public transportation is available and related protests are planned in all three districts.

Strikers are demanding justice for the murder of a microbus driver on May 3.
