Bangladesh: Demonstration held in Dhaka on October 5

A demonstration was reported, for the third consecutive day, in Dhaka on Friday, October 5. According to the organizers, the protest was held to demand quotas for former members of the Mukti Bahini in certain government jobs. Demonstrators reportedly blocked Shahbagh intersection, leading to significant transportation disruptions. Further protests remain possible in the coming days. A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are to be anticipated in the vicinity of any demonstration.
