Bangladesh: High levels of dust pollution anticipated in Dhaka during dry season

Environmental experts have warned that already worrying levels of dust pollution in the capital Dhaka are anticipated to worsen as the country enters the dry season, which runs from mid-October to March. Dust levels are currently very high due to unregulated construction sites, improper waste management, and poorly maintained vehicles. Experts have called on the local authorities to take action and implement measures to reduce pollution levels, warning of a looming public health crisis. Protests by environment activists cannot be ruled out.
