Leaders of the Jatiya Oikya Front opposition coalition announced on Tuesday, December 25, that a rally initially scheduled for Thursday, December 27, in Dhaka has been canceled. According to party officials, police denied them permission to hold the event at Suhrawardy Udyan park. Further political rallies are possible prior to parliamentary elections on December 30.
Context
The Oikya coalition was formed in October 2018 and is comprised of four political parties, including the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
