Argentina: Nationwide teacher strike March 6-8

Unions representing teachers have called for a nationwide strike to be held from Wednesday, March 6, through Friday, March 8, to demand higher salaries. Teachers staged a demonstration on Wednesday at Plaza de Mayo (Buenos Aires). Further associated protests are expected in Buenos Aires and other major cities throughout the country. A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of any demonstration.
