Union calls for nationwide teachers’ 48-hour strike September 12, 13; associated protests planned nationwide

The CTA Autónoma union is calling for a 48-hour nationwide teachers' strike on Thursday, September 12, and Friday, September 13, to denounce lack of funding in the higher education sector and to defend public schools and education. Associated protests are planned throughout the country on the same day.

In Rosario, protesters are expected to gather at 09:00 (local time) outside the Provincial Health Ministry, before heading to the ANSES headquarters. In Casilda, a march is scheduled to take place beginning at 11:00 from the May 25 and Buenos Aires areas to Plaza Casado. In Santa Fe, protesters plan to gather outside the Ministry of Health at 10:30.

A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions should be expected surrounding all protests.
