Argentina: Nationwide environmental protests planned October 6-11
Environmental group calls for nationwide protests October 6-11; heightened security presence and transport disruptions expected

The Extinction Rebellion (XR) environmental group has called for nationwide protests from Sunday, October 6, through Friday, October 11.
On Monday, October 7, protesters in Córdoba will gather at the city courthouse at 10:00 (local time) until about 17:30. Also on Monday, protesters in Buenos Aires will gather at Plaza San Martín as of 12:00 for a protest.
Other protests are to be expected in urban centers across Argentina during these dates, as many are expected, though not all have been publicly announced.
A heightened security presence and significant transportation disruptions are expected in the vicinity of all protests.

The Extinction Rebellion environmental group has organized disruptive protests around the world since November 2018 to demand increased action to address climate change issues. XR is planning a series of international protests starting the week of Monday, October 7.
