An avalanche struck at a ski resort in San Carlos de Bariloche (Rio Negro province) on Monday morning (local time), July 27, killing one person and injuring at least two others. Officials stated that the avalanche occurred while ski patrol from the resort were carrying out preparatory work prior to the opening of the slopes to the public. The wounded personnel have been transferred to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
