Nationwide demonstrations are scheduled to take place throughout urban centers in Bolivia from Thursday, November 5 to Friday, November 6. The demonstrations are being held over the results of the October 18, general election, which saw the Movement of Socialism party win the election. The protests have been organized by several unions to denounce the election results. In Potosi City (Potosi department) a demonstration is scheduled to take place at Plaza El Minero, with participants of the protest scheduled to gather at approximately 14:00 (local time). Additionally, the Pro-Santa Cruz Civic Committee, in the Santa Cruz department, has announced a 48-hour strike from November 5.
A heightened security presence and associated disruptions to transportation are likely in the vicinity of the gathering in the near term.
