Warning

Event

Workers for the LATAM Argentina (4M) airline plan to march from the Obelisk to the Ministry of Transport in Buenos Aires, starting at 0900 Dec. 28. The action is to protest issues around job security in the context of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Workers from the Parque de la Costa amusement park will participate in the demonstration; other individuals whose job security has been impacted by pandemic-related restrictions could also join the event. The protest is likely to draw large crowds.

Police will probably deploy to monitor the protest and secure the ministry building. Major violence is unlikely; however, the demonstration is likely to cause localized traffic disruptions near the march route.

Advice

Avoid all protests as a standard precaution. Allow extra travel time near the protest in central Buenos Aires Dec. 28.
