Health workers plan to protest at Hospital Garrahan in Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1330 Dec. 29 to demand higher salaries.

Unionized health workers affiliated with the Association for Professionals of the Garrahan Hospital (La Asociacion de Profesionales y Tecnicos del Hospital Garrahan, APyT) plan to protest on Combate de Los Pozos street and Avenida Pichincha in Buenos Aires, 1330 Dec. 29. Protesters will rally to demand a higher salary increase for hospital workers. The APyT has threatened to strike Jan. 5 if their demands are not met.
Police will probably deploy to monitor the protest. Significant violence is not likely; however, isolated skirmishes are possible if demonstrators block roads or disobey police orders to disband. Localized transport and business disruptions are likely.
