A suspected improvised explosive device (IED) killed at least four people in central Mali, Jan. 26. The incident occurred in the vicinity of Bandiagara in the Mopti region and wounded up to three others. All victims were reportedly civilians. This is the latest in a series of fatal attacks in central Mali in January. The attacks underscore the pervasive insecurity and the threat posed by militants across much of northern and central Mali.
