Approximately 120 firefighters are battling a brush fire in the immediate vicinity of Viru Viru International Airport (VVI) in Santa Cruz, Aug. 2. While most operations at VVI are continuing, some flights have been delayed or canceled. Moreover, the main access road to the airport has been closed, with traffic being detoured to alternative routes.
Authorities believe that the fire was deliberately set as an act of sabotage; however, they have as yet released no information concerning a possible suspect or motive.

Allow for additional travel time to and from VVI. Confirm all flights. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed.
