Bolivia: Protesters in Portachuelo blocking National Route 4 Oct. 20

Protesters in Portachuelo, Santa Cruz Department, have blocked National Route 4 Oct. 20, causing significant transport disruptions in the area. The purpose of the action is to demand that the government complete several public works projects in the area. Although the demonstrators plan to dismantle their roadblocks at the end of the day on Oct. 20, they have threatened to resume the action indefinitely on Oct. 25 if their demands are not met.
