A magnitude-5.5 earthquake occurred in La Rioja Province at around 06:35 March 6. The epicenter was about 64 km (40 miles) west-northwest of Vinchina, La Rioja Province. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 118 km (73 miles), and weak-to-light shaking was probably felt throughout La Rioja Province, as well as parts of San Juan and Catamarca provinces in Argentina, and Atacama Region in Chile.
