Officials in the Cayman Islands ease COVID-19-related international travel restrictions as of April 19.

Warning

Event

Authorities in the Cayman Islands have issued orders to ease the territory's COVID-19-related international travel restrictions. As of April 18, fully vaccinated travelers are not required to quarantine upon arrival if they complete the islands' travel declaration before departure for the territory, have proof of vaccination, and have a negative pre-travel test result. Other restrictions remain unchanged. These measures will be in place until at least May 31.

Domestic Measures
Individuals must wear protective facemasks in indoor public settings. Most gatherings are limited to 500 people indoors and 1,000 people outside.

International Travel Restrictions
All passengers over the age of five must submit a negative result from a PCR or antigen test taken no earlier than the day before their departure for the Cayman Islands. Before departure, all travelers must receive approval to enter the territory through the Travel Cayman system. Unvaccinated travelers must apply no less than five days before departing to the islands, while vaccinated travelers must apply no less than 72 hours before their departure.

Persons who provide verifiable proof of having been fully vaccinated and their children ages 11 or younger are not required to quarantine. Unvaccinated travelers must quarantine for seven days upon arrival; individuals must isolate themselves at a government-approved location. Fully vaccinated persons staying in the same accommodations as family members who are required to quarantine must take a daily antigen test if they wish to go out during the family members' isolation period. GPS tracking is required for those allowed to isolate at a private residence, and authorities may carry out checks.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, tighten, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice, depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
