Officials in Cayman Islands ease their COVID-19-related travel and domestic restrictions June 30.

Warning

Event

Authorities in the Cayman Islands have issued orders to ease the islands' COVID-19-related travel and domestic restrictions effective June 30. Under the new orders, the use of facemasks is no longer required in most public settings, and a pre-travel test is no longer required for individuals traveling to Cayman Islands.

Domestic Measures
The use of facemasks is no longer required in indoor public settings. However, owners of establishments may still ask their clients to wear one. Most gatherings indoors are still limited to 750 people, except in offices, education centers, churches, healthcare centers, and shelters. Additionally, individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 must continue to isolate, but do not require a negative test to end their isolation.

International Travel Restrictions
All visitors aged 12 and older must be fully vaccinated to enter the Cayman Islands via airplane. Citizens, residents, and other individuals with close ties to the islands are allowed to enter unvaccinated. People traveling on cruise ships are not required to be vaccinated. Travelers are no longer required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test before their travel.

Before departing for the Cayman Islands, all travelers must receive approval to enter the territory through the Travel Cayman system. Unvaccinated travelers must apply no less than five days before departing to the islands, while vaccinated travelers must apply no less than 72 hours before their departure.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, tighten, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice, depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
