Military drills to continue in the Bohai Sea near Weifang, Shandong Province, and Dalian, Liaoning Province, China through July 6

The Chinese military continues to hold drills in the Bohai Sea, off the north coast of Weifang, Shandong Province, and south coast of Dalian, Liaoning Province, through 23:00 July 6. Authorities have established the following exclusion areas to facilitate the exercises:
Approximately 1 km (0.6 miles) southeast of Dalian and extends about 56 km (35 miles) southwestward through June 30.
Around 40 km (24 miles) north of Weifang and extends about 106 km (65 miles) southwestward 08:00-23:00 June 25-30.
Around 0.7 km (0.4 miles) north of Weifang and extends about 27 km 16 (miles) southwestward 04:00-23:00 July 4-6.
The Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) has banned civilian vessels from entering the area for the duration of the exercises. It is unclear if the MSA notification applies to civilian aircraft.
The drills and associated exclusion zone may prompt minor regional maritime shipping delays. The exercises may restrict shipping traffic in waterways to ports in Dalian and Weifang. Flight delays cannot be ruled out at airports in the region, especially Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport (DLC), Weifang Nanyuan Airport (WEF) and, potentially, offshore helicopter services.
Advice
Plan for potential shipping congestion and delays. If possible, consider alternative transport for time-sensitive cargo. Confirm flights if traveling through DLC and WEF as a precaution.
