Emergency crews are responding to a structure fire in the upper levels of a commercial building under construction in the Vita junction in northwest La Paz late July 25. Reports indicate that the fire started at approximately 20:30 on the 13th floor. Falling burning materials are presenting some risk to nearby structures. Authorities have cordoned off the area and are diverting traffic; operations of the red line of the cable car at Central Station (Estacion Central) may be disrupted. There are no current reports of injuries. The cause of the fire is unclear.
