Protesters are clashing with police near the residence of Vice President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, located at the intersection of Calle Juncal and Calle Uruguay in the Recoleta neighborhood of Buenos Aires, late Aug. 27. Demonstrations broke out after local authorities erected barricades near the vice president's house following an announcement that prosecutors were opening a criminal case against her over alleged acts of corruption; supporters of the vice president have said that the barricades effectively imprison her in her home.
