Union workers, including representatives from the Piquetera Unit (Unidad Piquetera, UP), are planning a "day of struggle" in Buenos Aires Aug 22 to demand an increase in minimum wages in light of inflation. The demonstrators will hold a press conference and deliver a petition in front of the headquarters for the General Confederation of Labor (Confederacion General de Trabajo, CGT) at Azopardo and Independencia at 09:00. From 10:00 they will rally at the Obelisk at Corrientes and 9 de Julio before marching towards the Ministry of Labor.
