Argentina: Activists plan to march in Buenos Aires Nov. 22

Activists from the Picket Unit (Unidad Piquetera) social movement and Polo Obrero labor union plan to hold a protest march in Buenos Aires Nov. 22 over working conditions amid rising inflation. Protesters plan to gather at the intersection of 9 de Julio and Belgrano avenues in the Monserrat district at 13:00 before marching to the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Development. Hundreds to several thousand people could participate in the action.

Heightened security, as well as localized business and transport disruptions, are likely near the protest sites and march route. While the demonstration will probably pass peacefully, clashes between police and activists remain possible, especially if authorities attempt to forcibly disperse crowds.
