Large gatherings will almost certainly materialize in Buenos Aires and other major cities across the country ahead of, during, and after the FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and France Dec. 18, prompting authorities to impose increased security measures in affected areas. Demonstrations, celebrations, and other gatherings could occur with little notice, especially around prominent public squares and along major thoroughfares.

Heightened security measures, including temporary road closures, will probably remain in place until early Dec. 19. Ground transport delays are highly likely in urban centers. Clashes and acts of vandalism are possible.
