As a result of the demonstration, the bus terminal in the city of Cochabamba has suspended all scheduled trips to Oruro and La Paz, and the protest is likely to cause significant transport and business disruptions along National Route 4. Police are likely to deploy to the protest, and though the demonstration is likely to be peaceful, clashes cannot be ruled out, especially if authorities attempt to forcibly disperse protesters and reopen the highway.
