Cayman Islands: Authorities to eliminate COVID-19 testing requirements measures March 1 /update 37

Event

Authorities in the Cayman Islands have announced they will be dropping existing COVID-19 testing measures starting March 1. Those who test positive on a lateral flow test (LFT) will no longer be required to undergo confirmatory polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing. Furthermore, there will be no requirement for those who test positive for COVID-19 to undergo a seven day isolation period; authorities still recommend voluntary self-isolation for those who suspect they have COVID-19. Most other COVID-19 measures have been previously lifted.

Domestic Measures
Facemasks are optional, though medical institutions, care homes, and prisons can still require visitors to wear facemasks.

International Travel Restrictions
Officials are not imposing any COVID-19-related restrictions on international travel.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, tighten, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
