Warning

Event

Activists, affiliated with the umbrella left-wing organization Unidad Piquetera, have launched protests in multiple locations throughout Argentina early March 21, to demand the released of two members of the political party Workers' Pole (Polo Obrero).

Demonstrators have built roadblocks in several major roads and highways nationwide, including at Puente Pueyrredon, in the border between the city of Buenos Aires and the Buenos Aires province, as well as the Buenos Aires-La Plata highway. Protests are also likely on other inter-city and inter-provincial roads, including in the provinces of Mendoza, Santa Fe, Jujuy, and Salta.

Significant transport disruptions are likely in multiple locations March 21. Heightened security near the protests is likely, and clashes between protesters and police are possible.

Advice

Avoid all protests. Allow additional time to reach destinations and plan for alternative routes, if operating in Argentina March 21. Heed instructions from police and do not attempt to cross a roadblock if you encounter one.
