Argentina: Bus transport disruptions in Buenos Aires, April 12

Bus transport disruptions in Buenos Aires, Argentina, April 12; reconfirm services.

Informational

Event

Bus transport disruptions are ongoing in Buenos Aires on April 12. The disruptions are due to two factors. Drivers of the La Perlita company have withdrawn some services in response to a criminal attack on a driver overnight on April 11/12. Lines 288, 311, 312, 329, 422, 500, 501, and 512 are impacted. An ongoing drivers' strike also impacts Metropol company services. Lines 65, 90, 151, 176, 194, 195, 228, 237, 276, 310, 322, 326, 327, 336, 365, 386, 392, 448, 503, 504, 507, 510, and 670 are affected.

Disruptions are likely to persist for the remainder of the day. Knock-on delays are likely for available alternative transport. Drivers could protest near bus depots and company offices. Any related action is likely to be small and largely undisruptive.

Advice

Reconfirm bus services April 12. Plan for delays and increased demand for alternative transport.
