Demonstrations against the growing insecurity and violent crime in Rosario, Santa Fe Province, are likely to continue through early May. Activists have announced a gathering from 17:00 May 6 at Monumento a la Bandera. This follows a four-hour strike and a protest by local service stations and taxi drivers during the early evening of May 4 to denounce the recent murder of a local resident.
Although the action should remain largely peaceful, security forces will almost certainly maintain a heightened security presence near any demonstrations that materialize over the coming days. Localized transport disruptions are likely.
