Argentina: Unionized subway workers strike in Buenos Aires May 15

Members of the Association of Subway and Premetro Workers (Asociacion Gremial de Trabajadores del Subte y Premetro, AGTSyP) union have launched a strike that will affect all lines of the Buenos Aires Subway (Subterraneos de Buenos Aires, also known as the Subte), May 15. The purpose of the action is to demand increased salaries and a shorter work week.

Crowded conditions, delays on operable subway lines, and increased demand for alternative means of transport are likely during the work stoppage.
