Argentina: Unionized teachers to strike across Sante Fe and demonstrate in Rosario May 23

Unionized teachers, affiliated with the Teachers Association of Santa Fe (Asociacion de Magisterio de Santa Fe, AMSAFE), plan to hold a 4-hour strike in the Santa Fe province, and hold an associated rally in Rosario May 23, to demand improved security measures in schools, and increased salaries.

Activists intend to strike between 10:00-14:00 provincewide. At the same time, a rally is planned at Plaza San Martin, outside the governor's office in Rosario, starting at 11:00. It is unclear how many people will participate; however, it will likely be well attended.

Heightened security, transport, and business disruptions are almost certain in the impacted area. Minor demonstrations are possible throughout the Santa Fe province during the 4-hour strike.
