Protesters in Santa Rosa del Sara are blocking National Route 35 as of June 13. The demonstrators say they will maintain the roadblock until the government agrees to build a paved road between Santa Rosa del Sara and Los Andes.

As a result of the protest, many vehicles unable to move, mainly trucks transporting goods, are parked on the highway, causing transport disruptions in the area. Police are likely to deploy to the protest, and clashes are possible, especially if authorities attempt to forcibly disperse demonstrators and reopen the highway.
