Argentina: Teachers to stage strike July 31-Aug. 1 in Chubut Province

Teachers affiliated with the Chubut Education Workers Association (Asociacion Trabajadores de la Educacion de Chubut, ATECh) will stage a 48-hour strike across Chubut Province July 31-Aug. 1 to demand a salary increase.

Striking teachers are likely to hold street demonstrations during the labor action. While such protests are likely to be peaceful, they will probably cause localized transport disruptions, and police are likely to deploy to monitor demonstrations.
