Argentina: Taxi drivers to protest in Tucuman Sept. 13

Taxi drivers plan to protest and block roads in Tucuman from 07:30 Sept. 13. Participants will gather in several locations across the city, including at the intersections of Avenida Mitre and Mate de Luna, Avenida Sarmiento and Calle Salta, and Avenida Alem and Avenida General Roca, as well as at Plazoleta Dorrego, Parque 9 de Julio, Plaza Independencia, and on Lucas Cordoba Bridge. Protesters also plan to block traffic near Teniente Benjamin Matienzo International Airport (TUC) and the bus terminal. The purpose of the action is to demand that local authorities prohibit Uber and other ridesharing services in the area.

Increased security and localized transport and business disruptions are likely near demonstrations. Protesters may also gather in different locations across the city.
