Argentina: Activists protesting in downtown Neuquen, early Oct. 6

Unionized activists, affiliated with left-wing political parties and social organizations, have launched a protest in downtown Neuquen, Oct. 6, because they allege authorities have not been making payments in already existing programs for low-income residents. Demonstrators have marched near the offices of the province's government, and have remained along Avenida Argentina, blocking traffic between Belgrano and San Martin streets.

Significant disruptions are likely in the area for the coming hours, including to transport and business operations. Heightened security in the area is likely, and clashes between police and demonstrators cannot be ruled out.
