Argentina: LGBTQ pride march planned in Buenos Aires Nov. 4

LGBTQ community to hold pride march and rallies in Buenos Aires, Argentina, beginning at 10:00 Nov 4. Localized disruptions likely.

Warning

The LGBTQ community and its allies plan to hold the annual Pride march in Buenos Aires on Nov. 4. Participants plan to gather at Plaza de Mayo in downtown Buenos Aires, starting at 10:00. Several events and music concerts will be held in the area until 15:00 when activists plan to march to the National Congress. Additional events are scheduled outside the Congress until nighttime.

The event will probably draw large crowds. Authorities will almost certainly deploy heightened security along the route and outside government buildings as a precaution; transport and business disruptions are likely. While the march will likely remain peaceful, minor isolated confrontations cannot be ruled out if counterdemonstrators attempt to assemble nearby.

Exercise caution in the vicinity of the event on Nov. 4. Allow additional travel time to reach destinations near the announced march location; seek alternative routes if necessary. Heed all security and traffic advisories.
