Bolivia: Activists build roadblock in the Santa Cruz-Cochabamba highway in Yapacani, early Dec. 6

Activists have built a roadblock along the Santa Cruz-Cochabamba highway, also known as National Route 4, in Yapacani, Santa Cruz Department, early Dec. 6. The protest is to demand justice over the killing of a community leader in September; demonstrators are demanding the presence of the department's attorney and other government's representatives.

Significant transport disruptions in the area are likely in the coming hours. Heightened security is possible. Clashes cannot be ruled out if police decide to forcefully end the blockade.
