Argentina: Protesters gathering in Buenos Aires Jan. 5

Activists affiliated with the Standing Neighborhoods Movement (Movimiento Barrios de Pie), which opposes President Javier Milei, are gathering outside Hotel Libertador in downtown Buenos Aires on Jan. 5. As the president is staying at the hotel, heightened security is in place in the area, and the building has been cordoned off by authorities.

Transport and business disruptions are likely in the area during the demonstration. Clashes between protesters and police cannot be ruled out.
