Informational

Transport disruptions are likely along the A1 Motorway near Osnabrueck through late Jan. 25 after authorities closed a section of the thoroughfare northwest of the city following a small plane accident. The aircraft, an ultralight private plane, crashed between the Achmerstrasse underpass and the Osnabrueck Canal about 50 meters (55 yards) from the A1, downing powerlines on the roadway. The pilot was injured in the accident; no other casualties were reported. Authorities expect the closure to last into the night hours.

Consider alternative driving routes to avoid the closed section of the A1. Allow extra time to reach destinations in the area.
