Argentina: Health strike scheduled nationwide Feb. 22 to demand improved salaries and investments

Health workers affiliated with numerous organizations, including the Federation of Health Workers' Associations of Argentina (Federacion de Asociaciones de Trabajadores de la Sanidad Argentina, FATSA), plan to hold a 24-hour nationwide strike in Argentina on Feb. 22. The purpose of the action is to demand negotiations that lead to an increase in salaries and more investment in public health.

The strike will likely significantly limit medical services nationwide, including in public and private clinics. However, emergency services will be guaranteed. Protests near health centers are possible, especially in Buenos Aires and other major cities like Rosario and La Plata.
