Warning

Due to severe weather impacting the region, power outages, flight disruptions, and flooded roads are likely in Buenos Aires and parts of the Buenos Aires Province on March 12. Officials have stated that up to 100,000 customers lost power the morning of March 12 due to heavy rains and thunderstorms. Worst-affected areas included the neighborhoods of Boedo, Barracas, and San Cristobal inside the city, and the towns of Quilmes, Ezeiza, and Lanus in the province.

Additionally, numerous flights to and from Jorge Newberry Airpark (AEP), and Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) have been delayed or canceled; further disruptions are likely over the coming hours.

Reports indicate multiple streets have been flooded in areas such as La Matanza and Monte Grande. Authorities have issued severe weather alerts through at least 23:59 March 12; the most affected areas will be central and northeastern Buenos Aires Province, while the rest of the province, the city of Buenos Aires, and parts of Santa Fe, Cordoba, Entre Rios, La Pampa, Rio Negro, Mendoza, Salta, and Jujuy provinces will also be impacted by rain and strong winds.

Confirm flights at AEP and EZE on March 12. Strictly heed instructions from authorities. Monitor local media for updated emergency and weather information. Seek updated information on weather and road conditions before driving or routing shipments through areas where severe weather is forecast. Plan accordingly for potential delivery delays if routing shipments by truck through affected areas. Charge battery-powered devices in the case of prolonged electricity outages.
