Education workers plan to march from Monumento a la Revolucion to the Zocalo in Mexico City, Mexico, from 16:00 Oct. 4.

Warning

Around 3,500 members of the Union of Workers for the Autonomous University of Mexico (Sindicato de Trabajadores de la Universidad Nacional Autonoma de México, STUNAM) plan to stage a protest march in Mexico City on Oct. 4. Participants will gather at 16:00 at Monumento a la Revolucion before marching toward the Zocalo. The demonstration will demand improved salaries and a reworking of their current work contract.

Authorities will likely maintain a heightened security presence near the march route to monitor the protest. Localized transport and business disruptions are likely.
