Activists plan to demonstrate in central Monterrey on Jan. 6 and 7 to denounce increased public transport fares. On Jan. 6, participants will gather at the Macroplaza starting at 16:00. On Jan. 7, demonstrators will assemble in front of the State of Nuevo Leon Government Building (Palacio del Gobierno) at 17:00. It remains unclear how many participants the two events may draw.

As a precaution, authorities will probably maintain a heightened security presence near the gatherings. Localized business and traffic disruptions are likely.
