Mali: Complex attack occurs in Sevare, Mopti Region, April 22

Unidentified assailants launched a complex attack in Sevare, Mopti Region early April 22. Although information remains unclear, the assailants attacked a military base in the city as well as the nearby Mopti Airport (MZI), which serves the nearby city of Mopti, the capital of the namesake region. There were unconfirmed reports of multiple explosions at the military camp and MZI followed by gunfire; the status of MZI is unclear. Sevare is located 12 km (7 miles) east-northeast of Mopti city.
