Bolivia: Stong wind alert for Santa Cruz department June 8-11

Bolivia’s National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology (Senamhi) issued a red alert (highest threat level) for strong winds in Santa Cruz department on Thursday, June 7. According to Senamhi, winds with speeds between 70-100 km/h (43-62 mph) are expected to affect the provinces of Cordillera, Ibáñez, Warnes, Ichilo, Sara, Florida, and Santiesteban from Friday, June 8, through Monday, June 11. Transportation disruptions and power outages (e.g. due to fallen trees) are possible in the coming days.
